How much should I pack? We recommend enough outfits for a week and a half. This means you can do laundry once a week, plus some extra clothes in case you get wet or muddy!
What about warm clothes? What’s the weather like? It can get cool in the evenings, especially in the first few weeks of summer. A sweatshirt or hoodie should be enough to keep you warm (we sell them in the store, so no problem if you forget). You will need a rain jacket and waterproof shoes, we commonly get afternoon storms during the summer that you may be caught out in. A pair of sweatpants is also useful, especially on those first camp out nights.
How much storage space do I have? Each counselor will have two small cabinets to store belongings as well as space underneath the bunk for luggage. Keep in mind that you are sharing your bunk space with three other people, so pack light!
Where can I store valuable items? We recommend you bring as few valuable items as possible. But if you do have anything that needs safe keeping (passport, laptop etc) it can be kept in a locked locker in the staff lounge or in the camp's office.
I love to {insert hobby} can I bring my {random item}? Yes! You are welcome to bring any additional items not listed on the packing list that you think will make your time at camp more enjoyable. Keep in mind the limited space you have available in the cabin, as well as its personal value to you.
Oh no, I forgot my {toothpaste/pillow/sweatshirt/ etc}! Don’t worry our camp store is stocked with lots of items you may have forgotten and we also have extra bedding available if needed. If we can’t find it at camp, Walmart is just 15 minutes away.
Do I really need a lock? YES! Each staff member is assigned a locker in the staff lounge to keep their personal belongings and you will need a lock to keep it secure. Combination locks can be purchased when you get here.
We understand that many of you have limited baggage allowances when traveling to camp. We will have the following items available for you at camp to either borrow or purchase:
Pillow
Sleeping bag or bedding
Toiletries - soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, sunscreen, bug spray, deodorant etc
Rain poncho
Flashlight
Water Bottle
We can also arrange to visit town when you arrive to pick up any other needed items.
When packing, don’t worry about high fashion or fancy clothes. T-shirts and shorts are ideal - especially anything you don't mind getting messy. You might like to bring one or two nicer items for ‘town clothes’ but again, nothing too fancy is needed around here - jeans and a t-shirt is usually good enough.
