Randolph Air Force Base (IATA: RND, ICAO: KRND, FAA LID: RND) is a United States Air Force base located in Bexar County, Texas, (14.8 miles (23.8 km) east-northeast of Downtown San Antonio).
Opened in 1931, Randolph has been a flying training facility for the United States Army Air Corps, the United States Army Air Forces, and the Air Force during its entire existence. (Wikipedia)
Randolph AFB is a training installation for the United States Air Force and foreign allies. As such, trainer aircraft like the T-38 and T-6 are going to be the main planes that can be seen here. While rare, F-16s from Lackland AFB's 182nd FS occasionally conduct pattern work at Randolph and tankers may come through as well.
What makes Randolph AFB worth spotting at is the various T-38 special liveries as well as the dynamic shots that can be obtained. While there are few guides for spotting, an easy location to drive to in order to spot is the Schertz Soccer Complex which is right underneath the flight path of the T-38s and is where all shots on this page were taken from.
