CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting
CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting allows Connect Care prescribers to practice charting prior to launch, to promote end user confidence. During CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting, prescribers can chart in both Connect Care and their current documentation system (paper or otherwise). CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting is focused on high acuity and high volume areas, listed below; as it is not available in all clinical areas, many prescribers will not have an opportunity to participate in CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting.Â
CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting is supported by CMIO Nurse Practitioner (NP) Educators.

CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting Tracks
CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting is available for the following tracks:
Anesthesia: End users complete "dual documentation", in the legacy system and Connect Care simultaneously in real time.
Cupid: Focuses on cardiac resulting for invasive and non-invasive procedures.
Lumens: End users practice preprocedural and postprocedural documentation.
OBGYN: End users practice reviewing key Obstetrical & Gynecological workflows.
For CMIO prescriber end users at Launch 7 sites in the above listed clinical areas, CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting occurs September to October 2023. Prescribers must complete basic training before participating in CMIO Prescriber Shadow Charting. See the FAQ for information on the track-specific courses required.
