Physician Associate Studies MSc

Aims

To provide the Physician Associate students with an opportunity to observe and consult with patients in a primary care setting and encourage them to develop their skills as independent practitioners.

Teaching Commitment

Students will be allocated in pairs (occasionally 1 student) and attend a 4 week block placement in year 1 in either August, September or October, and 24 Wednesdays in year 2. The Programme commences in January but GP placements will start from August.

Assessment

The students will have a logbook with the activities

and skills that need to be signed off. The GP Tutor

will also be required to complete an end of term

assessment of the student’s overall competence
