Audacity is an audio editing app that is intuitive and easy to use. You can use it to cut, record, speed up or down, splice together pieces of audio and more. Instead of asking students to come up with a dialogue and write it down, an activity that can be done in pairs or small groups is that of recording their dialogues. By using audacity to do this, each of the group members can record their part comfortably and then either leave silence for the others answers or cut the space afterwards. They can also spice up their recordings by adding music, sounds and/or background noise.
Quizizz, similar to Kahoot, is a quiz making app. You can create questions and share your quiz with a number of characteristics, such as a point system, time limits, pictures and more. Besides the classic use of testing through Quizizz, students can also create their own. A possible activity would be to ask them to create one to test their classmates after a presentation they've given.
Foxit PDF reader is as the name implies, an app for reading PDFs. However, a very simple activity that can be done is to ask for guided highlighting and underlining. The teacher asks the students to read a text and proceeds with a series of tasks such as: Underline with green the main idea, highlighting the most important actions of the character, etc. After the pandemic, many students have gotten accustomed to reading material online, and this tool provides access to real-life summarizing tools.
