PuzzleMaker
Access Puzzle Maker ⬇️
Puzzle Maker is a free-to-use website for making puzzles hosted by Discovery Education. It's ad-supported. An account is not required. While not very aesthetically pleasing, it's easy to understand and to use. The process to create puzzles is relatively simple, but is very text heavy, which might not be very attractive to students.
Puzzle Maker is not the greatest tool to cater to SEN students. It lacks accesibilty features, and most puzzles would prove extremely frustrating to students that struggle with reading (e.g. those with dyslexia). However, it can be advantageous for teachers wanting to use differentiated instruction, as one could make multiple puzzles with different levels of difficulty.
Possible task: Puzzle revision
Time allotted: 30 mins
Sts will be tasked with creating their puzzle to cover a unit of vocabulary/set phrases. Afterwards, the Sts will share their puzzles and test their classmates in a fun pre-evaluation competition.
In this task, according to the PLANIED (Plan Nacional de Educación Digital) framework, we are working with some of the core dimensions of the plan, as we are involving play, active community and computer knowledge. The students are having fun by challenging each other, as well as sharing their work that they've done independently.
