Ongoing Projects

In an effort to improve the hospital environment, our program works with various departments to assist in the implementation, data collection, and overall improvement of Adventist Health Castle Hospital. As such, we have some projects we are currently working on to do just that!

Interview a Staff Member

Project Mission: Take the opportunity to learn more about the healthcare team at Castle! Interview a Castle staff member by introducing yourself and asking the following questions, or come up with your own. You may write down the answers to their questions on a piece of paper. This should take no more than 5-10 minutes to complete. Please only complete this during your down time.

1. Why did you decide to go into your profession?

2. What do you enjoy most about working at Castle?

3. When you are not in the hospital, what do you like to do in your free time?

4. What advice do you have for those who are interested in going into healthcare?

5. How can I support you better as a Health Scholar/Junior Health Scholar?

Scholar's Role: Ensure that your name and department of the staff member you interviewed are written down. After your shift, take a photo of the paper you wrote their answers on and send a picture to dmerino@copehealthsolutions.com . Upon completion, you will receive 1 project hour. You can interview up to 3 staff members for a total of 3 project hours.

Rediscover the Reason

Scholar's RoleEach time you complete a shift within the COPE Health Scholars Program, you are able to submit a response (minimum 300 words) for 0.50 project hours. If your reflections are noticeably long (over 600 works), you will receive 1 hour

Scholar's Role: Watch the following 3 videos and complete the survey at the end. We suggest to have the survey up while you watch, and watch in the order the videos are listed below. You will be awarded 4 project hours for watching all of these videos and completing the survey. This can only be completed once.
