December 5, 2024 – Meeting Minutes

Attendance:  Karen Bradford, Shelly Crouch, Sharon Durham, Shawn Huisinga, Chrissy Squires, Doug Stoutin, Librarian Gretchen Murphy and Friends of Library, Tom Daughhetee

I. Call to Order: Vice-President, Shelley Crouch, called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm

II. The Consent Agenda.  Motion made by Squires, seconded by Stoutin,  motion approved

• November, 2024 Financial & Activity Reports

• November, 2024 Minutes 

• Checks signed to pay bills

III. New Business, presented by Librarian Gretchen Murphy

1. Friends of the Library, Tom Daughhetee 

• Friends will have a booth at Candy Canes on Main from 9 - 4.  A membership drive, raffling the  stuffed animal “Zoo” crochet gift items. The zoo animal holder was donated by Mark Gebben.  His only request a visual label of his donation.

     b)  Marketing Committee:  No updates to report

-   Shawn Huisinga, Shelley Crouch, Tom Daughhetee

3. Developing Early Literacy, Shawn Huisinga

-   Literacy program on science of reading for parents of pre-school students ages 3 to 5 

-   November program was well received.  Plan to reschedule another in the future

      d)  Library Programs, Librarian Murphy

-    Tuesday:  1:00 am Sr Bingo

• Wednesday:  1:00 Traci Blair volunteered to offer bingo and other games to home school students.

• Wednesday:  3:00 Chess Club, Jonas Solorio

• Friday:  11:00 Mother Goose on the Loose, Abby Solorio

• Friday:   after school Gaming, Kim Hensley

• STEM, hosted by the 4-H Extension will start soon

• Monthly:  11:00, 1st Thursday meet with Verizon representative

• Monthly:  10:00, 3rd Friday, Developing Early Literacy, Shawn Huisinga

4. Staff Salaries & Bonuses

Motion to accept following Salaries & Bonuses by Squires, seconded by Stoutin, motion carried

Gretchen Murphy $23.00 ($23.00 previous) $1,750 bonus

Kimberly Hensley $18.00 ($17,00 previous) $100 bonus

Renee Honselman $17.00 ($16.00 previous) $100 bonus

Abby Solorio $15.50 ($14.00 previous) $100 bonus

Kaitlyn Tipsword $15.50 ($14.00 previous) $100 bonus

IV.  Motion to adjourn at 5:40 pm. 

        Motion carried.     Next meeting, February 6, 2025 @ 5:00 pm
