Welcome again to the Weathering Department of the Scratch Building Corner. In this second installment we will construct and color the Renderbrook-Spade Blacksmith Shop. This project uses only basic construction and coloring techniques. I will introduce the use of soft pastels for coloring wood, which may be new to some of you. A styrene built version could also include many of the graining and weathering techniques presented in this installment.Â
Let me say that even though this reads like a short novel, you will find you will be able to color and weather the structure in less time than it will take you to read this installment. All of the techniques presented are easy to master. It is important, however, to carefully follow the sequence of steps.
