SATURDAY NIGHT BANQUET EXTRA FARE: $30/person
BOTH SIDES OF THE SUNSET VALLEY STORY
Joint presentation by: BRUCE AND JANET CHUBB
Bruce and Janet have been sweethearts since the first grade and Janet became secretary of the O-27 Sunset Valley Train Club at age 10. Married 60 years this September, the SV has always been a significant part of Bruce and Janet’s partnership. Bruce is an NMRA Master Model Railroader, is the inventor of the Computer/Model Railroad Interface (C/MRI), author of the model railroading books, How To Operate Your Model Railroad, the C/MRI User’s Manual, and the two volume Model Railroader’s Application Handbook, as well as nearly 60 articles in Model Railroader and NMRA magazine. With Bruce’s doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, he enjoyed a lifelong occupation in aerospace engineering.
Although not a modeler, Janet has had extensive training in crises management and enjoys her lifelong study of human behavior, especially as applied to family dynamics and model railroading. Fundamentally, there is nobody as supportive of the hobby and thousands of hours Bruce spends downstairs building and operating his current layout, The Sunset Valley Oregon System. Janet is indeed the number one SVOS fan and truly enjoys the friendships developed and the wonderful activities that have resulted because of the railroad. As part of NMRA conventions, Janet is frequently asked to explain this relationship to railroaders and their significant others with her main thrust being, “How to make your love grow as the hobby grows.”
This fast-moving, joint dynamic-dual presentation with all-color electronic images projected on a large video screen is designed to be both entertaining and informative to both railroaders and non-railroaders. Truly, it is a presentation that everyone should enjoy attending.
