22/5/2022 Braids United Celebration Day

For those all attending the Braids United 125 Celebration today thanks for a fantastic day.

Hopefully players and guests had a good day on the course.

Before I get to the winners a big thanks to all those who brought and prepared food to feed 56 people after the golf. I'll name some but if anyone has been missed or brought food after I left then apologies. But thanks to Graeme Blackwood, Catronia and Chris Wixon, Ross Dewar, Carole and Wilf Mitchell, Mick Ahearn, Paul Campbell and lastly my wife Denise. A superb spread enjoyed by all.

Thanks to Raj for bringing some sweets and chocolates.

Big thanks to Gordon for putting up the bunting and organising the refurb of the club, you will be pleased to know all the old chairs have found a new home in a church hall and the old table tops also collected yesterday, so the club is doing its bit in recycling.

A huge thanks to my wife Denise for preparing all breakfasts in the morning and manning the kitchen all afternoon and Glenn, manning the bar most of the afternoon.

Neil for organising the scorecards for all and marking, Mark R for getting vouchers, plus all the committee for helping and members for supporting this event.

For those not around for prize giving, I have attached a note from our honorary President Ben Crenshaw re our 125 year, I have this framed and will add beside the other letters from Ben.

Thanks to all for supporting this event, after losing balls at 1st, 3rd and 13th but still coming in close to the podium, maybe we should play this way every week.

BUGC 125th Celebration Invitational

All a reminder that we are having a BU 125 Celebration Invitational on Sunday 22nd May, tee times from 10:00am

This day you can bring a partner for free to play in a competition over the Braids celebrating 125 years. I'm hoping all members will try and make this event and celebrate this unique club of ours. The competition will be a 2 man Texas scramble so less pressure on you and your guest.

I need to block book times with Edinburgh Leisure, so need numbers for a few weeks before so the event.

There will be a sign-up sheet at the clubhouse, or if you can let myself or Mark Munro know if your playing and also your partners name (Edin Leisure need these details).

More nearer the time, but hopefully there will be food before and after the event, so I'll be asking for members to help make this a successful day.
