Current position on use of the clubhouse

23rd December Update

With the country going into tier 4 restrictions immediately after Christmas Day, the clubhouse will be closed once again for a minimum of three weeks. The locker room and toilets can, however, be accessed subject to the accustomed rules regarding face masks, personal hygiene and social distancing.

4th December Update

The City of Edinburgh is currently in tier 3 of national Covid restrictions. Under these circumstances, the clubroom can be open post-golf for those who want to make use of it.

This is subject to the arrangements previously in place - the capacity is limited to 20, with seats arranged facing each other in pairs and no standing; face masks must be worn on entering, leaving and moving around, but can be removed when seated; one way traffic to enter and leave; remember to sanitise hands on entry and departure, and wipe table surfaces when you first sit down.

Key holders may open the bar for sale of NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINKS ONLY and snacks. They will not be expected to hang around needlessly, so when the last keyholder leaves the bar will have to be closed.  Of course there may be another keyholder coming off the course soon after.  Remember, one person at a time in the bar/kitchen area.

We don't expect this to be a money-spinner, but it can offer a limited opportunity to meet members outside of your playing group.  If the seating capacity should be exceeded,  we will be relying on natural turnover to avoid any difficulties; so please be adaptable in these circumstances.

We have taken the decision not to hold the traditional “bring a prize – win a prize” in association with the Hind Cup, or the curry lunch following the Currie Bowl, as these are not compatible with current clubhouse capacity and social distancing. We hope to see these festivities return next year.
