Artifact description: This is a copy of my Mandated Reporter training certificate that I got at the start of student teaching.
Connection to ITPS standard: This artifact is connected to 9B) knows laws and rules (e.g., mandatory reporting, sexual misconduct, corporal punishment) as a foundation for the fair and just treatment of all students and their families in the classroom and school; This is the mandated reporter which gives the laws and rules around it.
Description of what was learned: I learned all about how to be a mandated reporter, especially in the school setting. I had some of this information ready known from working as a paraprofessional but this was a good refresher for me as a student teacher.
Artifact description: This is a copy of a Teacher Institute Day that I attended during my time as a student teacher. This was one of a few that I got the chance to attend.
Connection to ITPS standard: This artifact is connected to 9O) participates in professional development, professional organizations, and learning communities, and engages in peer coaching and mentoring activities to enhance personal growth and development; This shows professional development that was given during a Teacher Institute day for all the teachers.
Description of what was learned: I learned all about why the district uses the programs that they do and how to use them in the future if I ever get the chance to do so again.
