Our only visit to the Algarve where we stayed in the lovely Dona Filipa hotel which enabled us to play at San Lorenzo - a tough course with great sea views. The second day we were at Vilamoura Old Course where official handicap certificates were needed. Problem...Pete had left them at the hotel (or just lost them) so an urgent call was made to the North Hants Pro shop who duly faxed confirmation of all handicaps over to Vila moura Pro shop. The 'Cock Up Trophy' was born and became a permanent addition to our tours. The final day we played at Quinta Do Lago. This followed by an extremely long boozy lunch at Casa Do Lago. The proximity of the lake provided an ideal dumping ground for those attempting to give up smoking. It was on this tour that the Mousehole Trophy was introduced having found said animal overhanging the hole on the 5th green. After steady rounds of golf (including the Fiddle Factor Roger came out as the winner.
