A return across the channel to France staying in Le Neubourg. The accommodation was interesting with Clive getting the short straw staying a room no bigger than a cupboard with the smell of a dead animal! The highlight course was Champ de Bataille - where we received a very hospitable welcome - so much so that we were invited to their evening BBQ which together with a second round cost us less than the normal green fees. Le Neubourg was a very quiet town which appeared to close down at 10pm so it was back to the hotel bar for late evening drinks. The cramped accommodation didn't obviously affect Clive - who won the event quite comfortably.
