The inaugural event to celebrate Bob's 50th birthday was a 3 day trip across the channel where we played 5 rounds at Domaine de Roncemay and Fontainbleau. This was the start of many years where 6 average golfers enjoyed so many superb courses and great camaraderie.

We have never experienced fairways quite like it - huge rocks instead of bunkers and a number of areas churned up by wild boar - a challenge indeed. Only occasionally was a mistake made leaving the course and turning into oncoming traffic. The accommodation was spot on and what we did learn on this tour was that Chablis, Beaune and Armagnac were often responsible for moments that gave memories that stayed with us .... but never shared.

The event was won by Clive who was always able to drive the ball out of sight ... sometimes straight.
