Character Connections

Due to the nature of the game, we require new characters to have an existing connection to a character who is already in play. These connections can be as strong or as tenuous as both players are comfortable with but it has to be enough for the in-play character to be willing to 'sponsor' the new character's place on the ship. 

Below is a list of the in-play characters and what sort of connections their players are open to. After reading bios, please let a mod know which one interests you. 

Annari

• Another New Wave graduate. 

• Possibly a former New Wave instructor. Would likely be former military or have a psychology/mental healthcare background. 

• Former military connections from her time in the CDF.

• Ex-lover, colleague, or friend from her time traveling around the Black. 

Charlie

• No specific connections, but would be open if something made sense.

CJ

• Someone from his time in the CDF R&D division.

• Clubbing/music scene friends.

Mox

• Anyone who knew her mother (CHL connections)

• Frequent acquaintance from visiting the Artemis

• Rival racers/pit crew from racing days

• Anyone she's done mechanic work with or for

Nebula

• Former Lover.

• Racing Rival (or buddy).

• Someone from when she was rocking around the Black.

• Former Employer from her courier/messenger work.

• Possibly a racing fan, depending on how it was crafted.

Seth

• A fellow inmate from Seth's time in prison. 

• Someone Seth knew from the modeling/porn scene or his time in the military.

• Since he's been all around the galaxy, other more random connections could also be a possibility. 

Sorochi

• A former or current client. 

• A previous fling. 

• Someone she knew or helped on Heritage Terminal. 

• Open to other connections as well. 

Zeke

• A former crewmate from before Zeke joined up with the current crew.

• A former classmate from his time on Goibniu.

• A distant relative - aunt, uncle, cousin.

• Possibly another connection through his parents but this could be more complicated.

Mutations

In some cases, terraforming has resulted in mutations to the population of a planet. If you'd like to brainstorm a potential mutation with the mods, please reach out, but also be willing to create a fully realized planet to go with it. 

Please note that not all of the mutations are open to be played and some are closed to new members simply because we have more than one character with that mutation.

Filling Out Your Character Profile/Bio

As a general rule, you want your bio to give a clear picture of who your character is and how they came to be the person they are today. We suggest you read through the bios of the characters already in play, especially those belonging to the moderators (Seth and CJ). This will give you an idea of how to fill out your bio, what the moderators tend to look for in a character, and will also help familiarize you with the in-play characters.

Please note that we don't accept copycat characters.  You may borrow inspiration from existing characters out in the world, but at the end of the day, your character must be uniquely yours. 

This goes for characters in-game as well - please read each bio thoroughly before submitting your character to make sure they don't overlap with an existing character. Because this game is small, there is no reason for characters to mirror each other too closely.
