Human Mutations: Like the original Menagerie mutation, humans have the ability to communicate with Enlightened Ones. On Animal Crossing though, the number of humans born with the ability has been noticeably decreasing over the last few decades. In contrast, Enlightened Ones - with their striking blue eyes regardless of species - are being born at the same rate that they always were.
Geography/Biodiversity: Animal Crossing is a space station but over the last fifty years, great care has been taken to make it more comfortable for its animal citizens. There is far more greenery seen on this station than any other.
History: Abandoned at the tail end of the Space Station Era, but still functional, Station Omega was never meant to house its new citizens long term. Due to its location near Baldur Gate, it was a convenient place to temporarily move the evacuated Managerians when the planet fell to the animals during the Civil War but plans for long term housing were delayed. The CHL found itself stretched thin by the end of the war, and weren't able to relocate Menagerians in the immediate aftermath when much of its limited remaining resources were dedicated to rebuilding, salvage efforts, and more refugee programs.
In the meantime, the human Adepts and the Enlightened Ones who'd chosen to join them in space, decided that they didn't want to wait for the Coalition to remember they existed and instead began turning Station Omega into a home. Donations and fundraising efforts provided the money to upgrade the station and over the next couple of years, Station Omega became affectionately dubbed Animal Crossing. While it was never officially renamed as such, literally no one refers to it as Station Omega in everyday conversation.
Nowadays, all but the oldest of Adept and Enlightened pairs come from Animal Crossing rather than Menagerie and many are recruited for military service.
