Significant Relations and Affiliations: Papa and Mama Khadija Abatantouno, an unknown sibling who was in the oven when he left, and whatever clan his parents’ deemed worthy of interacting with like Nana aka Grandmother Gertrude (he named his guitar after her). Tallulah Alladay (Stephan Perez), an old friend from his childhood. 

Bonds, Obligations, Debts, and Warrants: His mother had a low grade bounty on him which may or may not still be active since they recently contacted each other, although things didn't go as planned. He is definitely wanted by the Smocks, as are members of the crew for contributing to the death of their son Cayden and hiding her granddaughter.

Appearance: He tops out at  6 '1, grey eyes and dirty blonde hair usually cut high and tight but lately he’s been letting it go curly and going longer between shaving his face. Goibniuans tend to be super anal about their appearance and  Zeke has been trying hard to cut those old habits and look more like a typical spacer.

Zeke is pretty leggy, all the better to run from danger, and he likes to work out… a lot, it keeps him busy. He’s got a decent athletic build, and he’s a bit vain so he likes to show it off, especially his arms. Which currently has a geometric labyrinth type design tattooed on both forearms, he also has a set of bars on his neck. Gauges in his ears, and a piercing over one brow basically anything to not look like a typical Goibniuan (except he does).

He hasn’t mustered up the courage to permanently alter his appearance with surgery. Zeke just thinks he's pretty forgettable in general, who was going to notice someone like him?

Personality: Zeke oozes confidence when it comes to tech. He’s good at what he does and he knows it, and that's why people pay him. A genius with programs, he’s very methodical and disciplined when it comes to computers. 

As put together as he is about tech, he’s a total wreck about the rest of his life. He’s a big,  sensitive teddy-bear under all those muscles. Touch-starved as a kid he can be a little overly tactile with people, although he gives great bear-hugs. Ten years in the black and he’s still a big, nerdy boy who likes to play the guitar and stargaze in his free time. He’s easy to get along with, has a heart as big as a battlecruiser, and doesn’t like being alone. Zeke thrives in a group.

He likes nice things, although he’s not overly flashy or flamboyant because it attracts too much unwanted attention. Freedom and independence comes before almost anything so he’s not very materialistic because he might have to dump everything and run for it. Zeke puts on a real good front when the ship is in dock, because you can’t let the universe know you’re a good person or it will walk all over you.

Unfortunately Zeke can be very insecure about his place in the universe, there are a lot of negative feelings and anxiety that’s been drilled into his head by his father, withdrawal from long term heavy drug use (stimulants mostly) and natural Giobniuan paranoia. When they rear their heads, especially collectively,  it’s less than pretty.

Strengths, Talents, Abilities: Besides being able to chat it up with sophisticated  tech, and work magic with software, Zeke is also pretty good with the hardware side of technology. He reads a lot of technical manuals to stay on top of things, it’s an ever changing universe out there. He likes refined labor like tweaking a motherboard.

He’s good with a firearm, when it comes to an inanimate target. Basically trick shooting. 

Everyone on Goibniu has a form of telekinesis, Zeke’s is the more dexterous kind which is very helpful for micro-engineering. He's extremely well practiced at it, and smart enough to use it to his fullest advantage and to be aware of its limits… and like most guys that means stupid party tricks.

Zeke’s pretty observant, like there’s an eye in the back of his head. But that’s probably his natural Goibnuian paranoia hard at work.

Weaknesses and Fears: Zeke abhors violence, and conflict and is pretty much a pacifist except when defending those close to him. The very sight of blood usually makes him physically ill or weak in the knees. Even loud verbal fights among the crew will have him hiding out and covering his ears. 

He’s terrible in a physical altercation, and tries to avoid them at all costs. Zeke is definitely a flight before fight guy.

Our techie is currently a recovering addict, and still a bit of a boozehound. He’s very dependent on his friends to help keep him from deviating from this new flightpath in his life. The temptations are everywhere and when he gets stressed out, natural dopamine only goes so far. 

He’s always afraid of being exactly what his father thinks of him, a failure.

History: Zeke doesn’t have a real sad, sap story other than being given the shittiest name in the galaxy and parents who weren’t exactly loving. His daddy was a big time surgeon, who married the daughter of one of the owners of the biggest research facilities on Goibniu … In other words Zeke was born into a very well to do family with a big ol’ silver spoon wedged up his very fine ass.

He’s good looking, smart, likable and lived in one of the biggest cities on the planet, so why would he ever decide to leave the comforts of home? Well, for one his parents planned every inch, every minute, every nuance of his life. Even before they discover his talent for technology… 

They’d prance him around at their fancy parties like a prized pet to associates. And then ignore him and the other kids, as they did alcohol and stims to alleviate their boredom. Well, at least their son had one thing in common with them. Little tough to teach him to ‘just say no’ when they couldn’t. But Zeke and his friends were teenagers, so of course they were going to rebel against the whole being leashed even if it was a gilded cage. Poor little rich boy.

First it started with pranks like hacking into his school system, and then moving onto bigger and better things like tapping into his mother’s family company security systems and exposing its secrets to the populace. He never really considered the consequences of his actions, he was too young and spoiled at that age. His parents had sheltered him from day one, and Zeke really didn’t have a firm grasp on repercussions, because they always smooth things over afterwards. Anything to keep their social standings moving ever upward.

His father disowned Zeke in his teens thinking to teach his son a lesson. That he would learn to tow the line and conform to the cushy life that was designed for him if he threatened to take it away. Ironically his father was the one to start Zeke on stims, cognitive enhancers, and so-called smart drugs as a kid. You couldn’t be anything except more than extraordinary if you had the Abatantouno surname.

His father never once said that he was proud or even loved Zeke and his mother just barely so. It was a joke to think that the threat of cutting him off when he never felt attached in the first place would work. So it wasn’t a surprise that a few weeks after his seventeenth birthday, Zeke hacked the crew manifest of a transport freighter and hitched a lift off the planet.  

He hooked up with different crews, changing ships every few years. Sometimes they were good people and he would help upgrade vessel programs or hack into docking manifests to get the best jobs. Sometimes he got caught up in bad company. 

His stim, and booze habit was becoming a more regular part of getting used to being out in the universe. But he’s pretty good at functioning under the influence, and it makes things like falsifying ship IDs, or forging a cargo manifest palpable. Forging a prescription is just as easy as breathing.

So he was looking for a new ship to join, with a datapad full of real and forged documents and his most charming smile. And that's how he met Seth and CJ, that is until their captain dumped them on a mining colony. They got bounced around and picked up more crewmates along the way including Annari, who was a big factor in getting himself clean from stims. He’s still wary of new crew because people come and go, and he still needs the support of others not to fall off the anti-grav barge and back into bad habits. 

Unfortunately the crew are real magnets for trouble from their past, from criminal enterprises to space vampires with a grudge about killing their psycho-kid. And a weird competitive and codependent relationship with a bunch of pirates that he was not jealous of a certain medical staff member catching the eye of a certain medical member of his crew that he had a HUGE crush on…

The recent run in with his mother asking him to come home, the death of a crewmember and the maiming of another while they were abducted has Zeke thinking about Goibniu. If he’s cut out for life in the Black, he feels frayed and damaged. But the crew has been more of a family to him than anyone on his homeworld so he’s trying hard to be the best he can for his mates, and himself. 

Anything Else: He’s fascinated by others’ mutations, and any new thing that comes along. Likes to play his guitar to keep his fingers busy on downtime in space. Smokes… a lot.

Kind of a foodie, and recently discovered that he loves animals.
