Job 14: 8-9 “Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.”
Job 14: 8-9 “Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.”
In a hot and dusty desert
In a dry and weary land
No water flows
No cactus grows
And nothing shows
But sand and sand and sand
The stony ground
Is all around
And fiery hot winds blow
No cloud floats by
No rain in sight
And this is all I know
It seems unfair
I’m planted there
And told I need to grow
The land is scorched
The dirt is torched
And I am all alone
But at the scent of water
Everything changes
My roots grow deep
And find you there
A roaring river flowing where
Only my spirit sees
And as i drink
The way i think begins to be renewed
Despite the things that others see
I grow into a flowering tree
I come alive
Begin to thrive
Bear fruit for the hungry
And the roaring rapids mighty call
The thundering shout of waterfall
Speaks life and love and hope for all
Freedom from guilt caused by the fall
And won at Calvary
And the weary traveler stops to drink
They plunge in deep
Begin to think
And all their fears they start to shrink
Because of who you are
And it’s all because I took a chance
And looked beyond the desert sands
I put my life into your hands
And placed my trust in you
