You’d wash my feet
But would I wash yours
Would I see it as worship
Or just a chore
Another thing for me to do
To cross off my list when the day is through
You set a table
Prepare a feast
But am I willing to stop and eat
Or do I miss out on all your best
Cuz I’m always racing towards what is next
You wait for me
Do I wait for you
Or do I just do what I want to do
Do I see you standing there
Do I stop and listen, show I care
I’d like to think I’d wash your feet
Sit at your table
Take time to meet
But somehow I don’t think that’s true
I get wrapped up in me
And forget about you
I want to end this race well run
I want to hear you say well done
But I can’t do it on my own
I’ll always fail if left alone
So help me look beyond my selfish greed
My busyness, my urge to flee
To quit the race when things get tough
To just give up, say I’ve had enough
So take my heart make it your home
Direct my path, lead me to your throne
Give me the will to follow you
And honor you in all I do
