1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
I'm not a good Samaritan
Although I’d like to be
Mercy and compassion
Aren't words that describe me
And if I’m honest with myself
I don’t think that I’d stop and help
I’d hoard all my possessions
And I'd cling to all my wealth
Truthfully I’m more like David
Not strong or loyal, fierce or brave
I’d never go and fight Goliath
But I would scheme against Uriah
I’d covet things that were not mine
And in their taking cross the line
I’d turn my good friends into foes
Warm embraces into blows
And burn my bridges as I go
So don't ask me to lead God’s flock
I’m more a pebble than a rock
And I don’t have the kind of faith
That lets me walk across the waves
But just like Peter I'd deny
Three times before the rooster cried
I am not bold and all my pride
Just hides a coward deep inside
My heart is heavy, somewhat hard
Broken, wounded, full of scars
But despite all this still God decides
To choose me as his holy bride
And so with gratitude for love and grace
I’ll do my best to run this race
I’ll ask forgiveness, offer praise
And lose myself in His warm embrace
