I am a Junior at BLHS, and I am most interested in marine animals and their behaviors. I became fascinated with marine animals after a trip to Sea World as a kid, and I have pursued STEM knowledge through various activities (Scholars Bowl, Science Olympiad, TSA, Robotics, and Mathletes.)
My post-high school goals include:
I am hoping to study Marine Biology and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at USC, Seattle University, or Drake University. In a dream world, I would love to be a Marine Biologist, but I plan to go on to be a pharmacist after college.
STEM courses I have taken: Honors Biology, Geometry, Honors Algebra II, Honors Chemistry, and VEX Robotics. I am currently enrolled in: Honors Physics, Pre-Calculus, VEX Robotics, and Honors Scientific Research.
Current research overview: I am studying how the microplastic Polyethylene Terephthalate affects the hermit crab Coenobita Compressus. I will be using a 30cm landmark maze combined with a reward system to test their ability to remember the location of objects in relation to other objects (allocentric spatial memory).
