Mission
The Honors Scientific Research program at BLHS is a rigorous and challenging program that prepares students for careers in STEM. Through authentic and original research, students gain hands-on experience in all facets of the scientific process. They also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. The program culminates in symposia, fairs, and competitions where students share their research with the broader scientific community.

Research Topic Selection & Feasibility Study
Students self-select a field of study for their research and immediately troubleshoot ethical and safety issues for feasibility.
Experimental Design
Students design and conduct a plan of experimentation to provide rich data for analysis.
Data Collection & Statistical Analysis
Data is collected in a variety of ways and statistically analyzed using discipline-specific strategies.
Drawing Conclusions & Communicating Findings
After analyzing results and writing a formal manuscript, students present their work to experts in the field.
