In the blighted waters off the coast of the Empire lies the Isle of Malachor, a desolate rock shrouded in perpetual storm clouds. Here dwells Malachai the Devourer, an ancient wizard of unspeakable power whose obsession has consumed centuries of his immortal life.
Once, Malachai walked among the great wizards of the Old World, respected and feared in equal measure. But ambition twisted his heart. He became convinced that all magic items —every enchanted blade, every amulet of protection, every grimoire of forbidden knowledge—belonged to him alone. What began as a scholarly collection became manic hoarding, then outright theft.
Using dark sorcery and summoned servants, Malachai sent forth his agents across the realm. They raided the treasuries of kings, plundered the vaults of the High Elves, and desecrated the sacred halls of the Dwarfs. Some say he even bargained with Chaos itself, trading pieces of his soul for power enough to breach the most heavily guarded sanctuaries.
Now his island fortress groans beneath the weight of countless magical treasures. Weapons of legend hang on walls no mortal eye has witnessed. Artifacts of immeasurable power lie stacked in vaults like common coin. Yet Malachai grows ever more paranoid, ever more desperate to acquire the one item that eludes him—the source of all magic itself.
The surrounding waters churn with unnatural energy. Ships that venture too close find their compasses spinning wildly, their crews driven mad by whispers in the dark. Local fishermen speak in hushed tones of the island that should not exist, and the wizard who has stolen the very magic from the world.
