The main objective of organizing this seminar was to create awareness of diabetes among all the staff members of St.Joseph’s College.

Participants get an awareness of Diabetes mellitus.
Understand the Types and causes of diabetes.
Understand the importance of diet in managing diabetes.
Understand the symptoms and treatment options for diabetes.
Understand the ways to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes.
AIDS Awareness Program

The Department of Zoology, St. Joseph’s Degree College, organized an AIDS awareness program in Mamidalapadu Village in connection with World AIDS Day. The event aimed to educate villagers on HIV/AIDS, its prevention, and the importance of breaking stigma.
Students performed skits, dances, and songs to spread awareness, delivering strong messages on safe practices and early detection. Faculty members provided additional insights, answering questions and clearing misconceptions.
The program was a success, effectively engaging the community and raising awareness about AIDS through creative performances and informative discussions.
National Science Day Event:
The Nobel Spark: Igniting Curiosity and Innovation

The Department of Zoology at St. Joseph’s Degree College organized a vibrant National Science Day event with the theme "The Nobel Spark: Igniting Curiosity and Innovation." The event aimed to celebrate scientific achievements and inspire young minds through the innovations of Nobel laureates.
Students actively participated by creating exhibits that showcased groundbreaking discoveries and inventions by Nobel Prize winners in various fields of science. The exhibition was open to all students of the college as well as visiting school children. The diverse displays not only highlighted key scientific concepts but also ignited curiosity and a spirit of innovation among the attendees.
The exhibition attracted widespread attention, and students were able to engage with the exhibits, ask questions, and gain insights into the significant contributions of Nobel laureates to modern science. The event successfully fostered a deeper appreciation of scientific inquiry and creativity.
The National Science Day event was a resounding success, promoting curiosity and innovation through an inspiring exhibition. The Department of Zoology plans to continue organizing such events to cultivate scientific awareness and enthusiasm in the student community.
Report on Field Visit to Prakriti Vermicompost
The Department of Zoology, St. Joseph’s Degree College, organized a field visit to Prakriti Vermicompost on 28 March 2024. Students were educated on the vermicomposting process, including organic waste preparation, the role of earthworms, and compost production. The visit provided hands-on experience and highlighted the benefits of vermicomposting for sustainable agriculture and waste management.
The visit was informative, offering students practical knowledge of eco-friendly composting methods, and was a valuable learning experience.
