FIELD TRIP TO VIJAYA MILK DAITY, NANDYAL

•    The Dept. of Zoology organized a field trip to Vijaya milk diary at Nanadyal on 24th January 2023.

•     The main objective of the field visit was to get an idea of milk processing, separation of fats and proteins from milk, and pasteurization of milk production of milk products like curd, ghee, cheese, butter, etc.

AIDS awareness programme on WORLD AIDS DAY

The Department of Zoology organised an AIDS awareness Camp on 1st December 2022 in connection with WORLD AIDS DAY at Z.P. High School, Gondiparla village. Our students explained the History, structure of HIV, ways of transmission, prevention and treatment options of AIDS disease to 8th, 9th and 10th class students of Z.P. High School, Gondiparla.

SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS -2023

§  The dept. of zoology along with 15 students conducted a science awareness camp at ZPHS Munagalapadu on NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY i.e 28th February 2023.

§  The school Head Master and all the teachers were very supportive and the school students were very responsive towards the program.

§  Our students were enthusiastic to participate in the program. They presented a model and poster on importance of science in human life.

§  Students also explained about the superstitions and their impact on humans’ life.

§  A quiz was also conducted and the winners were appreciated with prizes.

·  To share information regarding syllabus and question paper pattern of CUCET.

Synopsis:

·   The Department of Biochemistry organised an interactive session for Biochemistry students on 25thMay 2023.

·   Miss. Gouri pr Priya shared her life journey and success story and motivated students towards higher education and research.

• Our students interacted and asked several questions regarding careers. She answered all the queries patiently.

Invited Talk on

Recent Trends & Opportunities in Biochemistry

Objective: To share information regarding recent trends and opportunities in Biochemistry.

Synopsis:

• The Department of Biochemistry organized a lecture for biochemistry students on June 2, 2023. 

• Dr. Madhu Babu shared insights into recent advances in biochemistry.  He also provided information on diverse employment opportunities for biochemistry students in universities as well as industries.

• Our students had a conversation and asked a number of questions. He answered every question with patience.

Blood Grouping Camp

Date: 5th January 2023

Time: 10.30 am to 1 pm

Venue: Biochemistry Lab, St. Joseph’s Degree College

Objective: To determine the blood group of 54St. Joseph’shostel girls for ID card purposes (to mention their blood group on the ID card)  

Synopsis:

• The Department of Biochemistry organised a blood grouping camp for hostel girls at our college on January 5, 2023.

• The camp was conducted under the guidance of C.S. Sreenivasa Rao, Head, Department of Biochemistry, and H.N. Prasanna, Head, Department of Microbiology, St. Joseph’s Degree College, Kurnool.

• All the 3rd-year biochemistry students were involved in the blood grouping activity.

• A total of 54 blood grouping tests were done for newly joined hostel girls for ID card purposes.

• Kudos to the entire biochemistry team for organising this useful activity.
