Artist Statement:

In my work, I have been playing with the idea of the emotional life of objects. Chairs have become of particular interest in my work. The object itself indicates the body and is specifically built to hold the body. The chair anthropomorphically mirrors the figure: legs, a back, sometimes arms. It’s symbolic of an individual. Through the use of this symbolic individual, I reference perception through distortion. The objects are fragile and precarious. Reflecting on depression, emotion, reality, and futility.
