Not all Essential oils are created equal. How do I know I’m getting a good product?
Essential oils are label with all kinds of things. Certified pure, 100% pure, Therapeutic grade, 100% natural certified pure natural grade, medicinal grade, certified pure therapeutic grade.
Here is the truth. There is no industry standard or government agency that certifies essential oils. This is where knowing the testing and ethics of the company you are purchasing oils from as well as understanding where and how oils are produced can help you find the best oils for you.
The science of today can synthetically make almost any compound in an essential oil. The problem with this therapeutic use of synthesized oils does not have the same effect in the body as 100% pure therapeutic grade oils. Our Amazing bodies know real from fake.
Testing in independent laboratories in crucial to know that an essential oil is pure and the ratio of compounds is at therapeutic grade.

Knowing the constituents of an oil will help you understand the possibilities but what are “possibilities”?
I’m using “possibilities” as ways that a specific oil has been used historically, has been used in a lab and can be used to support the body. Why are these possibilities? Because Essential oils do not heal your body they do not work like medication. Essential oils help support your body providing it what it needs to do it’s job. Heal and be healthy. I’m a firm believer that modern medicine is there for a reason but we need to remember that time and nutrition is what our bodies need to heal. You have to put in the work because there is no such thing as fix it all pill. There are times when time is not on our side. This is where medicine comes in.
So let’s start talking oils
Here are the Possibilities I’m looking for.
Digestive Health support
Fresh breathe
Sense of focus and uplifted mood.
Here are my thoughts in a short video.
Topical application - Applying Essential oils to the skin. I love seeing all the possibilities with this application. This is also where many myths come into play. If you have any questions, rumors or thoughts please comment here or PM me.
Definition - Applying Essential oils to the skin with or without a carrier oil to create possibilities.
How Much - Often with Essential oils Less is more. 1 or 2 drops is more than enough. Often it is best to dilute essential oil on the skin with a carrier oil. This does not reduce the efficacy of the oil but instead often help you body absorb it better. A carrier oil increases the surface area of absorption, enhances absorption on dry skin and prevents sensitivities. Dilution is never wrong especially for beginners.
What is a carrier oil? - a Carrier oil is a lipid based substance that is used to dilute essential oils. carrier oils include Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter. My go to is Fractionated Coconut oil. All this is coconut oil that has been process to stay a liquid. I like ti because ti stay stable(liquid) at most temperatures, it is non fragrant and it does not go rancid as easily as other oils.
How/Where - My favorite places to use oils topically are the bottoms of my feet, my temples and the back of my neck, and over the site of needed support(example my belly or my sinuses). My favorite way to do this is with a roller ball. doTERRA has several premix roller balls.(I love these!) When I mix a roller ball at home I start off with a ratio of 20 drops and them fill the rest of the 10 ML roller ball with Fractionated Coconut oil(FCO).
