Based on Angela Carter's short story "The Company of Wolves", this act follows Little Red Riding Hood as she wavers between fear and attraction to the man who arrived at Granny's house before she did and illustrates that, in fact, "the worst wolves are hairy on the inside." She eventually gives in to her attraction to the wolf and shows her own wolfish characteristics as she gorges on bloody flesh; after all, "the wolf is carnivore incarnate."
The bloody flesh is just roasted beets in corn syrup and food coloring; I use a drop cloth for this act, but the mess is minor.
This act premiered at Bibliothèque Burlesque's October 2019 show, Literary Monsters: Things That Go Bump and Grind in the Night at The Parkside Lounge. We didn't have a photographer that night, so I'm on the lookout for any pictures. Thankfully Rasha Jay took video of the act! I can't thank her enough for her support!
