Since I'm a woman who isn't Glenda Jackson, the chances I'll ever really get to play King Lear are pretty small. I can, however, create my own version of "Blow Winds and crack your cheeks." Inspired in part by the @jimllpaintit work on the left, my Lear confers with his fool, strips down to play in the rain, pulls army men out of his tighty whities, and even finds Gloucester's eyeballs in the form of pasties. This number debuted at Bibliothèque Burlesque's inaugural show, Shakes BARE, in April 2019 at Caveat. Photographs by Striker Posie.
