I placed non-slip tape down underneath mats and added a few pieces to areas that already had some. See below for more places this product was used! If you're interested in purchasing some for your facility or home to maximize safety, click the button below!
This was a project that certainly took a few days, but was completely worth it! After swim practices, the swimmers engage in group-led stretches to enhance their mobility. I noticed during my time at the site that many of the swimmers were slipping while transitioning between exercises while using mats. As OTs, it is fully in our scope to provide environmental modifications for both safety and function!
I used the non-slip tape here as well, to help not only reduce this issue, but provide a specific space for this activity! Turns out, the tape has been helpful in teaching the swimmers how to place their feet for relay starts! We love a good multi-use space!
The pictures to the left show the products I used to make a tool often utilized in competitive swimming to train underwaters. The materials create the line in the first picture, which is connected to the lane lines as shown. The objective of this product is to encourage swimmers to reach a certain distance underwater or during their starts (as they are easily movable).
