I am fortunate to have received the Student of the Year Award in April 2022 from Western New England University's Doctor of Occupational Therapy program.
Award speech: "This year’s winner was nominated by many of her student peers in the OTD program.
The winner of this award is described as always going above and beyond for others. She exemplifies the definition of the word empathy and she embodies what it means to be an Occupational Therapist, because all she really wants to do is help people be successful in their daily lives. This is very clear based on the passion and drive that she exhibits all the time.
She is described as truly admirable in the fact that she is able to manage everything with such a positive attitude and sense of relatability. To describe her as hardworking is the biggest understatement that could be made.
She empathizes with those around her and brings sunshine on a cloudy day. If anyone needs assistance or something to smile and laugh about, they can always go to her.
This year, the winner of the OTD Student of the Year award goes to Avery Fornaciari."
In June 2022 I was nominated for Student of the Month by my peer, Michaela Gallagher. Please click the link below to read more information on this experience.
In January of 2022, I was inducted into The Epsilon Omega Chapter of Pi Thera Epsilon Occupational Therapy Honor's Society for academic achievements and student involvement.
