How lucky have I been to work with two of the brightest, kindest, and coolest people? Very. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to not only learn from the both of you, but work with you too. You two have helped me grow in more ways than I can name. Thank you for your patience and support, even when I would ask 12 trillion questions every meeting. I know you both with continue to succeed in everything you do.
WNE OTD Faculty & Staff
To the incredibly inspiring individuals who have guided me for three years now, thank you is an understatement. Your passion has ignited a fire in me that I can only hope to share with others the way you have with me. Thank you for not only all you have done for me, but for the field of Occupational Therapy.
A special thank you to Dr. Latour, our Capstone Coordinator for educating us on the importance of doctoral work and running the whole DEx show!
I would also like to sincerely thank Dr. Levine for editing and approving both my OTpilot and DEx IRBs. I learned so much being your graduate assistant, and you truly inspired me to continue in the search for the answers to my many questions. Your passion and dedication for research is unwavering and I could not have done any of this without your support.Â
To the 2023, we did it!!! I feel like our orientation week was just the other day...time really does fly when you're surrounded by amazing people. From practicing in the labs, to doing assignments all night, to advocating for the profession - we did it as a unified team. I know that each and every one of you will positively change the profession. Congratulations everyone!!!
To Michaela and Diana (and honorary roommate Kaeli), wow what an incredible journey am I right? I certainly could not have made it through this program without you all. You motivated me when I felt at my lowest and celebrated with me at our highest. I am so fortunate that a Facebook group connected me with you wonderful people. I am so proud of you, and I cannot wait to continue to see all you accomplish. Its been my honor to go through OT school with you and form the Wildwood family. The memories are plentiful, and my gratitude is infinite. Thank you roomies, LYLAS!
My partner, Nathan
To the man who has stood by me through every high and low of my life since 2015. From sending me motivation videos before swimming meets, to letting me vent about my assignment due in 11 minutes...you've always been my hero. I am so grateful for you, in ways I will never be able to put into words. I would never have gotten here without your endless love and support. These next chapters together are going to be the best ones yet, I love you! <3Â
My Dad
Dad, you have been easily the most inspiring person in my life. You taught me from a young age to set goals, develop a plan, and go after it. How funny and amazing is it that I went into a profession that aims to help others do the same. The entire topic of my DEx was created due to you and I's mutual love for swimming. Nothing will repay the countless 5 AM practices you drove me to, or the miles you drove so I could swim a single event that would take less than a minute. Thank you, Captain (insert handshake here).
Mom, thank you for always being my role model. You have always exemplified what a strong, kind, beautiful, intelligent, and driven individual is. Thank you for always believing in me, even when I didn't believe in myself. I love you so much, to infinity and beyond! XO
To my little sister, thank you for always being such a ray of light. Thank you for always being down to go shopping and for always supporting me. I am so lucky to have you in my life. You make me so proud, and I hope one day we run a healthcare office together. You inspire me and I know you have a bright future ahead. I love you always!
To my little baby bros, you two have taught me so much. From practicing my pediatric skills on you, to watching you move through developmental milestones, all the way to starting school! I love you both so much and cannot wait to watch you continue to grow into amazing humans!!!
To my family, I love you all so much! I wouldn't be here without your constant support. You all have been amazing and I am unbelievably grateful to have you all in life. Thank you, thank you, thank you! <3
To my incredible friends, just wow! My heart is so so so full because of all of you. Thank you for never giving up on me during the difficult times, yet being some of the greatest supports the universe has known during the best of times! I am one lucky human to know each and every one of you beautiful people!
Thank you to all the members of the Sharks' coaching staff and executive board for all you have taught me and supported me through!
Thank you to each and every swimmer I had the pleasure of getting to know! You're all so wonderful and I look forward to seeing how you continue to excel within the sport and life!
To every individual who attended and supported this vision and mission, thank you so very much! I truly couldn't have done it without you all. We are the future together. Together we can continue to advocate and empower communities. We are the positive change!
