Empowering Artistic Expression: Enhancing Feedback Literacy in an Inquiry-based Classroom with Showbie

This interactive workshop explores how Showbie, an educational technology application, can enhance feedback literacy in art inquiry-based classrooms. Emphasising practical engagement, participants will learn to utilise Showbie's features to boost student feedback engagement, improve feedback quality, encourage feedback incorporation, and facilitate peer assessment. Additionally, Showbie's e-portfolio tool for self-assessment and documentation of artistic development will be highlighted, underlining the value of a process-centric, growth-focused educational approach.

Augmented Reality - Interacting with the Digital & Physical World

The 2024 Art Syllabus upholds an enduring understanding of ‘Art as helping us to see in new ways’. Augmented Reality (AR) as an art form, encourages students’ personal response as they actively construct meaning from their interactions with the physical environment. Participants will be introduced to AR tools that can transform drawings into captivating environments through practical demonstrations and hands-on activities. Teachers will gain the expertise needed to expand their art classroom experiences using AR technology.

TERM 3

Giving Back to Society Through Art

As schools progress and evolve to develop both staff and students using 21st Century Competencies, a great way will be to involve the school in a community-focused project. This encourages the development of being a Concerned Citizen and Active Contributor to the community and environment. Harnessing an existing school event, the annual art exhibition, this project grew to become more inclusive of the community around it. Participants will take away ideas of how they can adapt this model for use in their schools as well.
