Committee Description: Advocates and educates in defense of intellectual freedom—the rights of library users to read, seek information, and speak freely as guaranteed by the First Amendment. Committee Expectations:
Develop training and education for library media specialists to ensure understanding of intellectual freedom
To prepare and gather materials which will advise the library media specialist of available services and support for resisting local pressure and community action designed to impair the rights of patrons.
To assume responsibility for the continuing education of library media specialists regarding intellectual freedom.
Provide support to library media specialists in developing intellectual freedom policies
Work with EdCamp committee for keynote speaker to close out the day
