Commitment Time Frame: 12 months

Committee Description: The committee plans and executes the annual conference, the premier professional development event for Alabama school librarians. The President-Elect will serve as chair for this committee.

Committee Expectations: 

• With the ASLA President-Elect, formulates a theme and chooses keynote and general meeting speakers for the conference.

• Spearhead program selection and correspondence with speakers and attendees.

• Secure locations, pertinent agreements, and other logistics to ensure the conference's success.

• Attend any committee meetings to plan logistics and communicate with the committee chair.

• Assist in the planning and execution of annual Conference and New Librarians Conference (only occurs every other year)

• Contact sponsors for the event to help cover food, prizes, etc.

• Assist with promotion of Conference

• Assist with set up, facilitation, and break down of event
