This 3D Pottery simulation allows users to sculpt a virtual version of a historical pot from six different locations around the world. Locations include Greece, Peru, North America, China, Egypt & Australia.
Players start by using their mouse cursor to open a lump of spinning clay, much like how a potter would on a pottery wheel. After the void is opened, the cursor is used to sculpt and shape the pot to match the dimensions and proportions of the example vessel. Next, click and drag to add a handle. Use different colors to paint your piece and add a design. Try your best to match the embellishments! Fire your pot and you are done! The program will assign a score based on your accuracy.
Click the "learn more" button while playing to see other similar ceramic pieces from similar locations, time periods, or styles.
Students will have fun with this different game and get to experience virtual "pottery" without the mess!
