How do I connect my Arlo camera to Apple HomeKit?

What you need

When you first connect Arlo to HomeKit, you must be on the same WiFi network as your Arlo SmartHub or base station. After your Arlo device is integrated to HomeKit, you'll need an Apple home hub to access your Arlo devices via HomeKit when you're not connected to the internet. You need the following steps to use Arlo with Apple HomeKit:

The Arlo Ultra, Essential Video Doorbell (Wired), Pro 4, Pro 3, Pro 3 Floodlight Camera, Pro 2, or Pro camera are all options.

A base station for Arlo (VMB5000, VMB4540, VMB4500, or VMB4000)

The following base station firmware version (or a newer version) is required:

You have two options for connecting your Arlo camera to the Apple Home app:

On the base station or camera, there's a HomeKit setup code.

Without a HomeKit setup code.

To set up an Arlo camera with a setup code:

The Arlo app is used to set up your Arlo camera and base station.

Open the Apple Home app on your iPhone or iPad.

To add an accessory, tap + > Add Accessory.

Scanning the HomeKit setup code on your base station or quick start guide is a good way to get started.

To name cameras and position them in HomeKit rooms, follow the setup routine.

With HomeKit, your devices are ready to go.

To setup an Arlo camera without a setup code:

On your Apple smartphone, open the Arlo app.

Select Settings > My Devices from the drop-down menu.

Choose one of the Arlo base stations.

Select HomeKit from the menu.

Choose the base station you'd like to connect to HomeKit.

Tap Add New Home to create a new home.

If you don't already have a Home set up in the Arlo app, you'll be prompted to do so.

Choose a room or create a new one.

If you don't already have a Room set up in the Arlo app, you'll be prompted to do so.

Tap Continue to add HomeKit devices to add more cameras or base stations.

Continue through the setup routines to double-check each device's name and location in the room.

Confirm that the device's name is correct.

If necessary, tap Skip or rename any other devices.

Finish by pressing the Finish button.
