Arlo Camera Firmware- 2021 | December

Only the Arlo Baby Camera from Netgear’s “Arlo” line of networked smart home cameras supports HomeKit at the moment. However, release notes posted by an Arlo community manager in the company forums indicate that HomeKit support will be included in a soon-to-be-released firmware update for the Arlo Pro camera.

There are a variety of wireless and AC-powered Arlo devices, including the basic Arlo camera, Arlo Pro, Arlo Pro 2, Arlo Go, Arlo Q, and Arlo Q Plus. HomeKit would only be available for the wireless Arlo Pro camera, according to the release notes in the forums. The newest release notes for the Arlo Pro 2 do not include HomeKit support, but it’s unclear why the business would limit HomeKit support to the Arlo Pro line’s first generation.

With an upgrade to the Arlo iOS app in the Arlo Baby Camera in February, Netgear included HomeKit. If smart home gadgets enable HomeKit, users can add them to Apple’s Home app, which makes it much easier to integrate a range of items into home scenes that can then be controlled with a button or Siri.

Netgear released the Arlo Security Light as an add-on to its cameras just a few days ago. On its website, the wireless LED light illuminates outdoor areas, detects movement, and primarily supports Amazon Alexa.
