While the Arlo Baby Camera was already a HomeKit-compatible camera, many of its capabilities were not accessible through HomeKit. However, the most recent firmware update has introduced support for five of these functions, which is wonderful news for people who have been using these cameras exclusively for their infants and wanted access to the other features directly within the Home app.

The following are the new extra features: Air Quality, Humidity, a night light, temperature, and motion.

These features were previously only available in the dedicated app, which required launching a new app; however, with the current firmware upgrade, all of the previously unavailable functionalities are now available.

Given all of the features of the Arlo Baby cam, it has a lot more functionality than pretty much every other HomeKit camera on the market, so this has given new life to a device that was already packed with features but was limited by the limitations of not having everything available directly within HomeKit.

We liked the Arlo Baby Monitor so much that we gave it an Editors' Choice award and recommended it over the competition. 1080p video, night vision, sound and motion detection, two-way audio, and 24-hour recording are all included in one camera. The camera can also detect when the baby is crying and send you a notification.

It's also clever when it's not watching. The Arlo companion app for your mobile device has a built-in music player with nine lullabies that you may access. Bunny ears come standard on the Arlo Baby, but you may upgrade to puppy or kitten ears for a different look.
