Meet April
Owner | Postpartum Educator & Overnight Newborn Specialist
Hi, I'm April! I'm the owner of April’s Doula Services. I'm a Certified, Trauma-Informed Doula, Postpartum Educator and Craniosacral Therapist. I specialize in overnight newborn care, postpartum recovery, and offer CST to anyone looking for a deeper sense of calm and well-being. I lead a dedicated team of doulas who share my passion for helping families rest, recover, and thrive. I'm an approved provider through Carrot Fertility, allowing eligible clients to utilize their benefits for postpartum support. My passion is serving others during life’s most vulnerable transitions—whether welcoming a new baby, helping families thrive in their surrogacy journey or providing gentle sleep shaping techniques to exhausted families.
Though I was born and raised in Delaware, life has taken me on quite the adventure! I’ve had the privilege of living in eight different states across the East Coast, Midwest, and South, forming deep connections with incredible people along the way. Now, I’ve settled into my forever home in South Carolina, eager to build relationships in my local community.
I’m a proud mom of two grown children, a former foster mom to a sibling group of four, and “Mum” to three wonderful grandchildren. I share my home with my high school sweetheart of over 30 years and our sweet blind rescue kitty, Minnie.
My journey into birth work began in the most unexpected way—by delivering my first grandchild at home! A few years later, I found myself delivering another grandchild… this time in the backseat of our car! Our wild story even made the news, landing us on ABC News, Tampa Bay Times, Good Morning America, and Daily Mail UK. You can check out my 15 minutes of fame below!
When I’m not supporting families, you’ll likely find me sipping coffee, adventuring with my grandkids, or seeking my next thrill—whether it’s ziplining through the Costa Rican rainforest, tubing in caves in Belize, snorkeling with manatees, or even swimming with sharks… uncaged!
As a pastor’s wife of 25 years, I believe in the power of service, love, and presence during life’s most tender moments. Whether you’re adjusting to life with a newborn or navigating the end-of-life journey, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion, care, and a little bit of coffee.
If you're in Greenville, Greer, Anderson, Laurens, Simpsonville, Belton, Greenwood, Abbeville, or the surrounding Upstate SC areas, let’s connect. I’d love to chat over coffee and see how I or one of my team members can support you! ❤️

Meet Emilie
Birth Doula | Postpartum | Holistic Childbirth Mentor
Hello there, I’m Emilie — Orthodox Christian, certified birth doula, passionate postpartum caregiver, and mama to Eleanor and Benedict. I hold a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Christian Theology and Psychology. I’m married to James, an archaeologist with a love for digging up the past while I support new beginnings. After a whirlwind year of several moves and unexpected life detours, I’m finding my rhythm again. Benedict is finally night-weaned, and I’m ready to re-enter the birth space with renewed passion and presence.
Every birth is as unique and dear as any one person — bringing its own beauties, challenges, and joys. My heart is to come alongside each individual family with calm, loving and tailored support fit for their needs. I’m experienced in VBAC, hospital and home birth support, and I approach each family with reverence, gentleness, and a deep respect for the sacredness of birth and the early postpartum period. I believe birth works well and that the female body is beautifully designed to do this good work — this belief shapes the way I teach and support my clients and it upholds me as I enter into the birth space with families. Birth is a normal physiological process; yet, even still, the time and space in which we give birth is sacred and holy as new life comes forth. My hope is to help mothers gain confidence in the fact that they were created for such a good thing and to provide support for the tender moments of early postpartum as mothers themselves are born. With the rise of modernism, most communities are too large or spread out for the village-like community where wise women and family members would care for the childbearing woman. Through educational, physical and emotional support, I am committed to help fill the gap that modernity has created by caring for and serving families.
When not engaged in all things birth, you can find me reading good books with hot tea in hand, designing and creating beautiful spaces in my home, and playing with my children and husband outdoors.
“However much we know about birth in general, we know nothing about a particular birth. We must let it unfold with its own uniqueness.”
-Elizabeth Noble
Meet Gracie
Birth Doula | Postpartum | Overnight Newborn Care | Movement & Nutrition
Hi! I’m Gracie—a married mom of two sweet boys and a postpartum doula with a heart for helping families feel truly supported during one of life’s biggest transitions. My own birth experiences—one with an epidural and one naturally—along with navigating gestational diabetes, gave me a deep respect for just how different every pregnancy and postpartum journey can be.
I’ve always had a strong passion for this season of life. That passion drove me to further my education in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery, not just for myself but so I could help other moms feel empowered, informed, and confident in their own experiences. I believe this time should be memorable—in the best way—and that every mom deserves to feel seen, heard, and cared for.
Whether you're preparing for your first birth or adjusting to life with a newborn, I’m here with calm, compassionate, and personalized support—so you can move through this season feeling strong, capable, and never alone.
But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children.

Meet Stephanie aka The Purple Doula
Birth Doula | Postpartum Doula
Hey, I’m Steph, AKA The Purple Doula! I’ve been supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum since my daughter was nine months old (she’s 10 now!). I’ve always been fascinated with childbirth, but it was my own transition into motherhood that sparked my passion and truly opened my eyes to how powerful, vulnerable, and life-changing it truly is. I believe in the body’s incredible, innate ability to birth and in providing evidence based information to help you make informed choices and trust your instincts. The postpartum time holds a special place in my heart as well, for I feel it never truly ends, and those early weeks are raw, tender, and transformative. I get to witness and walk alongside new mothers who are finding their footing, their confidence, and their community. Whatever kind of birth and postpartum journey you are planning, my goal is to help you enjoy it all and feel calm, capable, and fully supported every step of the way.
I actually became a doula while still working as a hairstylist, and for years I did both! The two roles that might seem different but they share the same foundation: care, trust, and transformation. A lot of my hair clients even became doula clients and eventually lifelong friends. My many years behind the chair taught me how to truly listen, hold space, and meet people where they are — skills that naturally carried over into birth work. Along the way I also served as Co-President of The Long Island Doula Association, and also facilitated postpartum groups for new mothers, connecting birth professionals and families to strengthen the local network of support.
Now a stay-at-home mom who recently relocated to SC from Long Island, New York, I’m settling into a new chapter while continuing to pour my heart into helping families navigate birth and beyond. I’m a proud wife, mama & stepmom. I’m also a Star Wars lover, bookworm and a bodybuilder who loves baking sourdough, sharing real conversations, and reminding families that they already have everything they need within them.
Whether it’s your first birth or your fifth, at home, in a birthing center, or in a hospital...I bring the calm, help you build that confidence and love on you right where you are at. I’m your doula who brings the good snacks, tissues for both the happy & sad tears, and zero judgment — because birth (and motherhood) are real, fun, emotional, messy, and magic all at once.
"Be who you were meant to be, and you will set the world on fire"

Meet Karissa
Birth Doula Intern | Postpartum Doula
Hey there! I’m Karissa, mother of two and recent transplant to the Upstate. I’ve had a passion for all things related to birth and motherhood since before I became a mom, which only grew stronger after I gave birth to my first child. At the time, I had minimal knowledge of what I was going through as well as a hospital birth experience that included unforeseen circumstances. This led me to a journey of healing and a desire to help other mothers (as well as families as a whole) who are going through one of the most vulnerable and transformative journeys they will ever embark on. I am grateful that God provided these experiences and knowledge to equip me with a heart to serve expecting families; all glory and honor to Him!
I’m studying an extensive doula course through Stillbirthday to get my certification as a Birth, Stillbirth, and Bereavement Doula. By providing physical, emotional and educational support, I strive to help you avoid unnecessary interventions and have the birth you’ve always desired. I seek to assist in whatever areas are needed most and am committed to serving you through birth in any trimester, and in any outcome - whether during pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, unconventional loss, adoption, surrogacy, bereavement, or where any of the above may meet.

Meet Cierra
Postpartum | Overnight Newborn Care | Twin Experience
Hey ya, I’m Ciera - Christ follower, wife, and Mama to our 5 daughters Brynn, Stevie, Lorelei, Daisy, and Reese (coming soon), and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula. My days are spent homeschooling, cooking, and running our household (I like to call myself a domestic engineer, Ha!).
My husband and I were born and raised in Southern California where we met as high school sophomores. After we got married, we relocated between Michigan’s UP, back to SoCal, back to the UP, and then finally landed here in Simpsonville in June of 2022.
I’ve been so blessed to stay home raising our daughters for the last almost 9 years. 2 years ago my parents finally made the move from SoCal and we all moved on to 5 acres of land to live multi-generationally. We are so grateful to be with family, enjoying land, and raising our girls in a slower pace of life.
Thou mine inheritance, now and always. Thou and Thou only first in my heart, High King of Heaven, my treasure Thou art.

Meet Tia
Postpartum | Overnight Newborn Care
Hi, I'm Tia! I'm a postpartum doula rooted in Spartanburg County, SC, with almost 10 years of experience supporting families through one of life's most transformative seasons. I moved to the Upstate 3 years ago and it truly feels like home.
My journey into birthwork began in 2017 in the most unexpected way. After a layoff, a single podcast episode introduced me to the word "doula" for the very first time. I dove in headfirst; researching, learning, and signing up for the first training I could find. What struck me most was how few doulas looked like me were actively serving families. I knew then that this work wasn't an accident. I don't believe in coincidences, and I know birthwork was always meant for me.
Before becoming a doula, I founded a nature-based daycare in Ohio, a passion for nurturing little ones that followed me straight into this work. Today, I bring that same gentle, grounded energy to every family I serve.
My postpartum support is designed to wrap your whole family in care. Daytime visits include newborn care, infant feeding assistance, light housekeeping, meal prepping, and emotional support so you can breathe and heal. Overnight support is all about rest: I handle infant care, bottle cleaning and prep, and anything else so parents wake up a little more restored than the night before.
I serve familes from all walks of life. I believe every family deserves exceptional support, and I mean every family.
Outside of holding space for families, you'll find me outdoors with my husband and our little one on our 6 acre homestead. When we're home, we're tending our garden, working on creating our safe haven and soaking up nature. This year, expanding my medicinal garden is my personal passion project. We love finding new playgrounds and parks to hike. Waterfalls are my favorite! I welcome any and all recommendations.

Meet Lindsay
Postpartum Doula | Overnight Newborn Care
Hey! I’m Lindsay-a momma of 3 daughters, a doula and student midwife. While my children are still young, I’m supporting families through postpartum support, daytime and overnight. I love caring for people, especially Mommas and babies. I have worked with mommas and babies for 20 years and taken care of close to a hundred babies over these years! I’m currently working my way towards my goal of being a midwife. I have a nursing background and can bring knowledge and a calm voice in the middle of postpartum or birth. When I’m not working as a caregiver, I’m homeschooling my girls, working in my garden and when it's warm enough, you’ll always find us close to a body of water! We love our animals and raising our chickens. I’d love to bake you something yummy with fresh eggs!
I’m here to meet you where you are, sit with you in the hard and help you remember that you are made for this! I love using my relationship with Jesus to encourage clients that He created us with a purpose and an innate ability to take care of our babies. The natural motherly instinct is amazing! My goal is to help moms and the whole family feel confident and have a strong parenting
foundation. I love helping with lactation and establishing healthy sleep habits for babies.

Meet Elinor
Postpartum Doula | Herbalist
Hi, I’m Elinor, a mother of 2, a lover of art & song, an organizer for women’s spaces & am passionate about providing nurturing & nourishing postpartum care. I have also been a bio-regional herbalist for the last decade & my love of the plants is woven into my everyday life, including my postpartum offerings.
I have had two home births, both very different in their rhythms & outcomes, and two vastly different postpartum experiences. With my second child I focused deeply on postpartum nourishment & resourcing from my local community, and am blessed to say I had a truly blissful postpartum experience. Through providing care for families and particularly for women & babies, I hope to extend that level of deep nourishment to other women’s postpartum experiences.
I am fortunate in my life to have had multiple teachers & mentors, both in herbalism & also women’s culture. I have been an organizer for multiple large women’s conferences & I currently co-facilitate a women’s circle locally in the upstate, where we are focused primarily on women who are pregnant & postpartum.
Postpartum is such a tender time, and I feel deeply about serving women & families with deep reverence, connection & grounded support.
The best way we can take care of the future generations, is by optimally supporting mothers. The right order of things is that: Communities take care of mothers, so that mothers can take care of their babies, so that those babies can grow up to take care of their communities.

Meet Jennifer
Postpartum Doula | Bilingual-Spanish Speaking
Hi, I’m Jenny! Born and raised in South Florida, I have called the Upstate home for almost 10 years. Thanks to my parents, we grew up around birth, breastfeeding and alternative health.
I’m a mom to 4 kids. My personal experience birthing my children, I had a scheduled c-section for breech (when I planned a birth center birth) then 3 precipitous vbacs: two homebirths sandwiching a hospital birth in between.
You can usually find me hanging out with my husband and kids, homeschooling, making Cuban coffee, testing new recipes, bargain hunting, brushing up on ASL, gawking at Midcentury Modern and Art Deco architecture, and more recently doing Bible restoration.
As prepared as I thought I was for motherhood, I experienced many breastfeeding challenges, Postpartum Depression and Postpartum Anxiety even with a great family support system. That sparked my desire to serve moms and families who are navigating those challenging but sacred postpartum days.
By God’s grace, my sister and I pursued postpartum doula certification together in 2013 and have enjoyed the opportunities that have come from that. Lightening another’s burdens brings me joy!
"Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble."

Meet Heather
Birth | Postpartum Doula | Bilingual-Spanish Speaking
My name is Heather. I have lived in the beautiful Upstate South Carolina for the last six years. I am a Bible believing, Jesus follower and happy wife of 22 years to a wonderful husband. I began motherhood 21 years ago and am honored to raise seven children, five boys and two girls. My youngest is eight. I recently gained a lovely daughter-in-law.
I was born in Louisville, Kentucky and have lived in Ohio, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Bolivia, South America. Thus my birthing experiences are varied and colorful. Four of my children were born in South America and three in the United States. I experienced four hospital births, two home births and one born in a clinic. I had gestational diabetes with six of my pregnancies. In 2005, I miscarried a tiny set of twins.
Outside of my full days of mothering, cooking yummy food, and homeschooling my children, I love when my day includes time with friends, taking my children to the lake, crocheting or being involved in church activities. People are my jam.
After I assisted my first two births, I discovered that I wanted to serve Mom. My own varied experiences in childbearing enhanced my desire to support moms in the most vulnerable time of life. My passion is to make the time of birth as easy and comfortable as possible.
I want to serve you by massage or by bringing you food or a drink. My desire is to be a support and empower you during your prenatal, birth and postpartum experience. You were not meant to walk alone.
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
Psalm 139:13-14

I'm a Christian and love attending my local church. I feel God has given me the gift of caring and love for others, that I am able to demonstrate during the times people need it most!
