Standard 2 - Content Area and Pedagogical Knowledge – The competent teacher has in-depth understanding of content area knowledge that includes central concepts, methods of inquiry, structures of the disciplines, and content area literacy. The teacher creates meaningful learning experiences for each student based upon interactions among content area and pedagogical knowledge, and evidence-based practice.
Artifact description: This artifact is a lesson plan I taught during student teaching. The lesson was fun and engaging and a way to differentiate instruction, since students used a deck of cards to find the mean and median of 7 cards. Students worked in groups of 2-3 students to do this activity, I provided them with a recording sheet for student to write the numbers they picked from the cards, and for them to write their answers. I also created a bellringer that introduced the activity all of it matched.

Knowledge because it shows that I know my content area and the needs of my students to be able to create meaningful learning.
Reflection: This was my favorite lesson plan because the students really had a great time finding the mean and median of a deck of cards. I believe that in order to think outside the box once must really know their content to think of other ways to teach the material but I also think as a sped teacher I need to take into consideration all the needs of my students and how can I make it so that everyone can participate and how can I enhance their learning.
Artifact description: This is a link to a Wevideo recording of one of my lessons during student teaching. The video introduced dot plots and how to interpret the data and how to plot points. This was my first lesson about dot plots so I had to make sure to know the content so that students would also understand it.

Reflection: This video was a great visual to see one of my lessons where I go into introducing a new concept to the students. You hear in the video that students were following along and understanding this told me that I was explaining things in a way where students were following along and understanding.
