Alpinehearts 2024

That's it for 2024, folks!!

What a weekend!! Our very first Alpinehearts Festival was a roaring success! One hundred keen queer & lady climbers camped and slept in the beautiful Goescheneralp beneath glaciers, steep granite walls, in a nest of pine forests, blueberries and sheep. Bonds were forged and strengthened, inspiring moments were had, learning was done, and a sense of safety and belonging permeated the air. 

It was such a special weekend for us, with several years of dreaming & planning being realised! Inspiring, joyful, fun and accepting are key phrases that come to mind :) We are sure that these memories will stay with us.

We are so grateful for the many amazing people who made this climbing meetup possible. First thanks to you who attended; you came with an amazing attitude, one of mutual respect, friendship and fun. We <3 you!

Thank you especially to the residents of Goescheneralp, Gemeinde Goeschenen and Kanton Uri for being so supportive of our festival, especially Kari, Seraina and Christian.

A huge thank you goes to our instructors and performance crew, an amazing crew of women & queer climbers for sharing their talents and expertise, planning and teaching wonderful workshops!! We had workshops such as intro to rock climbing, for those taking their first steps on rock, as well as intermediate workshops such as intro to multipitch, intro to trad climbing and advanced workshops such as learning projecting, given by amazing mountain and climbing guides. We also had other workshops such as training & injury prevention, mental training for climbing, as well as sketching at the crag workshops for bringing that creative element into the climbing world. Thank you so so much to our amazing crew, who give proof that it is possible to be both extremely accomplished, strong and kind: Liv Sansoz, Damaris Hardmeier, Caro Ciavaldini, Alma Esteban, Martina Cufar, Anna-Lea Wyss, Flavia Balzer, Vilja Jantti, Zofia Reych, Michelle Voss, Lieselotte, Slava Lawson, Alba Omega, Claire Duart, Ors.
