Some keywords important to us! Diverse. Community. Inclusive. Cosy. Inspiring. Safer space. Friendly. Multilingual. Sustainability focus.
We ask that all attendees are respectful of each other, especially bearing in mind points raised in our Awareness Text. We know that it's impossible to have a 100% safe space, but as a community we are in a learning process to create safer spaces. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
We are a multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-national organisation. Between all us organisers we speak over 7 languages and live in three different countries in the Alps.
The main languages spoken at the festival will be English, German and French. Workshops indicate in the workshop description which languages the instructors are going to be able to operate in. We hope to make the event language-accessible. Please contact us if you have feedback on this or questions for us.
Ticket sales will be starting about the start on the 9th of May.
We will not be doing an early bird sale this year.
Unfortunately, we only offer tickets for the whole festival duration.
Alpinehearts has tiered ticketing, but has not yet calculated the prices for 2026. These are example prices from the 2025 edition.
Standard (CHF 145): Able to afford or save up for occasional weekend trips and the associated costs (transport, gear, etc.). Would be able to afford the festival comfortably.
Pay it Forward (CHF 185): Can afford regular weekend trips and the associated costs (transport, gear, etc.). Financially comfortable and able to give back to the community.
Concession (CHF 95): Able to cover basic necessities, but with limited financial flexibility. Would struggle to afford the festival without the concession rate. We only have a limited number of these tickets available.
Tickets include free camping and three dinners (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) and three breakfasts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Vegetarian food will be served with a vegan and gluten-free option.
See the Getting there page for more detailed information.
We've prepared a list to help you! Check out the Packing list.
We created Alpinehearts to celebrate women & LGBTQ+ in climbing. So our festival focuses on this shared experience as one of our key aims to create a more inclusive climbing community. Climbers of all abilities, experience and background are welcome.
One of our goals is also to help create new belay-tionships between participants. Do not be afraid to come to the festival alone! We will set up moments to meet new people in a safe and encouraging space.
Allies are also welcome, but we ask that they be respectful of the festival's core aim. We encouraged allies to volunteer and help out! If you are unsure about whether Alpinehearts would be a good space for you, don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.
We are attempting to make Alpinehearts an accessible space for all, but at this time, we are unfortunately not able to make this space fully wheelchair accessible, nor are the crags necessarily wheelchair user-friendly. Please contact us directly if you have any specific questions or specific accessibility requirements relating to vision, hearing, motor or cognitive impairments. You can contact us by email at info@alpinehearts-climbingfestival.com.
If you would like to sign up directly and have a few small queries, we have included a space in the registration form for you to fill out your access needs there.
Yes, you are so welcome!!
We want people of all levels of experience at the festival! One of the key things we are about at Alpinehearts is to make getting into climbing a more inclusive experience for women & LGBTQ+. For people who are climbing outdoors for the first time, we'd recommend taking workshops every day that you wish to climb at the festival. Contact us if you want more information/reassurance!
The beginner workshops will be announced around registration time.
Some participants might appreciate having a quiet space to take a break from socialising and the activity of the festival. We will have a dedicated quiet space indoors. We ask that all attendees are respectful of individuals in this space and do not use it for socialising or other gatherings.
Unfortunately we cannot host under 18 at the festival this year.
Of course!
Once a year, we open registration for board members. They are the people who organise everything for the festival, from booking cool workshops to deciding on what food will be served. Check our Instagram in the Fall for the form!
You can also volunteer during the festival. It will be for things like helping with the cooking or serving of the food, cleaning up, awareness shifts, and other in-the-moment tasks. Volunteer registration happens when you buy tickets.
We have not announced our 2026 workshops, but here are some examples from past editions:
Intro to Rock Climbing
Intro ins Sportklettern / Intro to Rock Climbing
Crack Camp
The Rock Warrior’s Way Falling & Commitment Clinic
If you are an independent climber, you are very welcome to climb independently of festival activities.
Note that we reccommend having medical insurance to cover you in the mountains.*
*We also remind you that climbing is an intrinsically dangerous support and that by attending the festival you agree to take responsibility for yourself.
You might want to take the opportunity at this festival to meet new people to climb with! During the festival, we will have a daily meetup to meet new climbing partners/groups. We've also created a Festival WhatsApp Community where we have a group to find climbing partners in advance or during the festival.
Obviously, you are allowed to climb with your friends. ;)
This is an outdoor climbing festival, and so the reality is that while we get to interact directly with nature's full beauty, it may shine, but it may also rain. Please come prepared for both eventualities (i.e. sunscreen, sunglasses, but also a rainproof jacket, trousers, etc.)! We are also preparing for this eventuality on our side.
If you are attending a course, your instructor will get in touch with you to organise your meeting time & place, as well as any plan B if it rains. If you are not attending a course, we recommend that if it rains, you consider hiking and maybe visiting one of the nearby beautiful mountain huts nearby, Salbit Hütte, Dammahütte and Bergseehütte and treat yourself to a "heisse Schoggi" (a "hot chocolate" in Swiss German!).
See this page for where to find information on the crags in Goescheneralp, and what to expect.
The two main accommodation options are the Gasthaus Goescheneralp (which is an add-on during your ticket purchase), or camping on the festival fields / sleeping in your vehicle (which is included in your base festival ticket). The fields belong to a lovely local farmer, giving us our very own private festival grounds.
The Gasthaus and fields have bathrooms and showers which you will be able to use. If you are driving to the festival / sleeping in your car, you will be able to park in the Gasthaus Goescheneralp parking.
Yes, at the camping there is one shower and several bathrooms. The Gasthaus also has several showers and bathrooms. Make sure to bring your toiletries and towel are on your packing list!
We will provide breakfast and lovingly home-cooked dinners, which is included in the festival price.
If you'd like to cook your own dinner, please bring your own stove, gas, pots and food!
The closest shop is a small Coop in Goeschenen, just a 20 minute drive from the festival grounds. If you need non-basic items, then a better bet is Andermatt which is towards Italy, or Wassen is the next town into Switzerland where e.g. you could buy camping gas if you need it.
Make sure that you have read the FAQ and other sections of the website. We are happy to help you, but sometimes we get overwhelmed with queries!
