Rationale: This is an artifact from my Education 380 class where a classmate and I traded lesson plans and did an evaluation on each others. We were given an outline and went through each others lesson plan and wrote different comments in specific sections that needed attention.
Standard Connection: This artifact connects with IL standard 8F) "understands the importance of participating on collaborative and problem-solving teams to create effective academic and behavioral interventions for all students;" During this assignment my partner and I corrected one another lesson plan giving each other advice and ideas to create a successful lesson plan for our students. This lead to being able to hear structural criticism and learn from one another. We problem solved for one another to keep each other on the right track which would overall benefit our students in the long run.
Self Evaluation: I think anytime we got to do peer evaluations in school it was beneficial because it was always and opportunity to learn from one another and ask each other questions. I learned how to how to make corrections efficiently and see how others complete their lesson plans. Some things my partner had on their lesson plan I did not and I mentioned how there were things I would like to add to mine when I edited it.
Rationale: This was a group project I completed in my disciplinary literacy class. In this project I collaborated with 3 other classmates on designing a school of our own and implementing the curriculum for the school. We came up with Riverview High school and we broke the sections down into subjects. My partner and I shared physical education and completed that section together.
Standard Connection: This artifact connects with the standard 8C) "collaborates with others in the use of data to design and implement effective school interventions that benefit all students;" As a group we used our own data to design this school and collaborated with one another to make sure this school was beneficial for all students. We came up with multiple different standards for all students to meet for each subject. This collaboration was a great way to show us how it is to work with others who may have different opinions on things and how we can all add our own ideas.
Self Evaluation: Overall I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to collaborate with my group and we learned from one another. We bounced off of each others ideas and came up with a great school and curriculum. This was something different that I never did before but I liked getting the practice and making a school from scratch. In this project I learned the importance of working with others and collaborating with others can be affective when developing a curriculum.
