The teacher creates meaningful learning experiences for each student based upon interactions among content area and pedagogical knowledge, and evidence-based practice.
Rationale: This assignment focused on what I believe as a future educator. I discussed 3 different statements that I believed in and went in depth about my explanation as a teacher.
Standard connection: I believe this artifact relates to standard 2E) "understands how diverse student characteristics and abilities affect processes of inquiry and influence patterns of learning;" In this paper I demonstrate the importance of diversity and how all students are different. I talked about the idea of using multiple teaching and learning approaches. Every students is different and may not learn the same and I understand the importance of implementing different teaching and learning styles in my classroom. This big idea of offering a variety is also helpful for me as a teacher to keep things different and gain more knowledge by learning new ways to introduce lessons.
Self Evaluation: Overall I enjoyed writing this paper it is something I can go back to and reflect on as a future teacher. This is something I want to live by to show my students when I stand by and who I am as a teacher and a person.
Rationale: This is a paper I wrote in my introduction to Kinesiology class where we had to pick a sport action and identify all the specific muscles used. In this artifact I chose to focus on the basketball free throw. My paper represent all the muscles and step by step on how they are used in the action of a free throw.
Standard Connection: This paper that I wrote can apply and relate to other areas of school and allows for real life situations. I believe this artifact connects to standard 2N) "facilitates learning experiences that make connections to other content areas and to life experiences;" I broke down a free throw shot in basketball which is a real life situation and this paper can also connect with English language arts, physical education and anatomy. This learning experience allowed me to relate to a sport that I am super familiar with while I was learning something new. I believe when students are given an assignment that is relatable it makes learning so much more engaging.
Self Evaluation: Overall this was very helpful assignment where I was more engaged than ever because it was very relatable to me. I learned so much about a free throw shot that I have taken probably up to a thousand times in my life. This is an assignment I would love to bring into the High School level for a health course and see how the students like it.
