I started my Ph.D. in October 2012 in the field of Social Networks Analysis. Part of the New Network Science, social network analysis lies at the crossroads of mathematics, graph theory, social psychology, marketing, politics, economy, security & privacy issues, medicine, genetics and, last but not least, computer science. My main interests revolve around the fundamental concepts of:
- modeling the structure of the society by understanding the way individuals interconnect
- predicting the dynamics of the society and the formation of new friendships
- enhancing existing opinion diffusion models in the graph
- determining the influential nodes and understanding their strategic positioning in the opinion diffusion process
- modeling the impact of opinion on the micro level of an individual, and reflecting it at the macro level of the whole society
Once this is achieved I hope to have made a difference in this field. According to the plan, I successfully finished and defended my thesis in February 2016.
