Fields of Interest
I consider myself passionate about many fields of science, but out of all, I currently research and find great satisfaction in the following:
Network Science. An interdisciplinary interest of analyzing and modeling networks and networked dynamical systems, yielding results in physics, mathematics, computer science, biology, economics, and sociology.
Social Network Analysis. The study of social relationships in terms of graph theory, modeling individuals and friendships (also my Ph.D. research topic).
Social Psychology. The scientific analysis of how people's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are influenced by the presence of others, facilitated through empirical methods of investigation.
Gamification. The application of game elements and mechanics in non-game contexts to engage people in solving problems, improving engagement, return on investment, data quality, timeliness, and learning.
Network Medicine. The study of disease through complex network theory that offers a new perspective on disease prediction, diagnosis and evolution.
Other topics that always make curious are: security and cryptography, networks-on-chip, nVidia CUDA and graphics engines.
