EdD Student Usage of Generative AI - Preliminary Findings
EdD Student Usage of Generative AI - Preliminary Findings
Presenter: Lindsay O'Neill
The rapid adoption of generative artificial intelligence tools in higher education has created both opportunities and challenges for doctoral students and their institutions. While EdD students increasingly integrate tools like ChatGPT and NotebookLM into their academic work, their usage patterns, ethical decision-making processes, and evaluation strategies remain poorly understood. This multiple-methods study explores how doctoral students at Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) institutions use generative AI in their academic studies.
